Didn't stay in the hotel part , but called in at the pub, ending up staying for tea. We both had steak pie. Absolutely perfect , plenty of meat. There's not many places where the locals welcome you as much as the owners. Only here for 5 days visiting but we will calling back here for sure.

We went on the spur of the moment and so glad we did. The service was quick and the wait for the food was not too long. Good things come to those who wait and it was well worth waiting for. I had the steak pie, my wife had chicken tikka masala and her mum had egg and chips. Absolutely delish. We would definitely come again 👍👍👍

Stopped by for a pint. Nice comfy sofas by a nice looking fire. Lost a star cos there's no sensor in the men's loo above the toilet. Which meant I was sat there in the dark.

As a centre for touring the area with an interest in Steam Railways it was ideal , The Slamons leap is ideal for walking , road & Rail connection to places Whitby, Robinhood Bay North Yorks Moors etc well worth the visit .

The food is good, however there is a small selection. The bar has a good range of selection. The biggest issue I have with it is that service is quite slow due to there only being a single person running it.

Yes it was clean and functional all newly done out nice guy sean bar was nice he's good hard workers he never stops good luck to him hope he gets where he wants to be with his hotel well done Sean

Beautiful hotel perfectly situated for whitby, Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington etc breakfast is beautiful, bar great very inviting, people friendly, animal friendly too definitely worth a visit, we definitely will visit here again

We stayed for 3 nights. First time away with our 6 month lab/collie cross puppy. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms and food was excellent. Building is being refurbished but was not a problem. Bar area cosy and friendly natives too! Recommended.

Even though the kitchen was near closing for the night they gave us a really good meal the staff were lovely friendly and pleasant .we could take our terrier into the bar area whilst eating . definitely going again if in the area
